The Visalia Elks Lodge #1298 is proud to host its 10th Annual Honor the Badge on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 providing a complimentary lunch to current and retired first responders. Dispatchers, public safety support staff, and other first responder support personnel are also invited to attend as a way of recognizing the vital role they play in keeping our communities safe.
The annual event, chaired by Ted Donald and supported by more than 80 dedicated volunteers, has become one of the largest community appreciation events of its kind in Tulare County.
Last year, volunteers served more than 650 meals, and organizers hope to welcome 700 first responders and support staff this year.
“We are honored to give back to the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities,” said Ted Donald, event chair. “Honor the Badge is our opportunity to simply say thank you for the sacrifices they and their families make every day.”
The event serves first responders from across Tulare County, reaching communities from Porterville, Tulare, Dinuba, and Woodlake, along with every community in between.
Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with multiple convenient service options available, including:
- Dine-in
- Drive-thru
- Delivery to agencies and departments
The Visalia Elks Lodge has proudly hosted Honor the Badge for the past decade as a way to recognize the courage, commitment, and selfless service of law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, correctional officers, and other first responder professionals who work tirelessly to keep Tulare County safe.
