Broadway star Betsy Wolfe returns to her hometown to sing with the Sequoia Symphony on Saturday, October 6 at the Visalia Fox Theatre.
“Having sung now with over 45 symphonies and pops orchestras across the world, I can honestly say it’s about time I add the fabulous Sequoia Symphony Orchestra to the list!” Wolfe said via email. “It’s long overdue, and I’m so thrilled the timing and all the stars aligned for me to be coming back.”
Wolfe grew up on stage in Visalia throughout her school years. Today she has established herself as one of the most versatile and keenly intelligent Broadway performers of her generation.
She recently finished starring in the Tony-nominated musical “Waitress.” Her other credits include “Falsettos,” “The Last Five Years,” “Bullets over Broadway,” “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” “Tales of the City” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
“Singing with a full symphony is honestly one of the most magical gifts as a singer, and we’ve taken great care to curate a varied program full of moments from my local past as well as what I’ve been up to in New York,” said Wolfe.
“From ‘Annie,’ one of my earliest shows in Visalia, to ‘Waitress,’ the last show I starred in on Broadway, we have a lot covered! Many of the songs I will sing at the Fox are symphonic arrangements that were done specifically for me for my second Carnegie Hall concert in New York.”
Wolfe also let us know that she recently shot a guest star spot for the second season of the CBS show “Instinct” that will be aired soon.
