Two Congress Members’ Views on Impeachment Inquiry

Representative TJ Cox from the 21 District (Kings County) and Rep. Kevin McCarthy from the 23rd District (Kern County) sent out short press releases concerning the Impeachment Inquiry announced yesterday. Which view does the Valley most side with and should we be hearing from the representative of Tulare County Devin Nunes?

From the office of Representative Kevin McCarthy

“I’m sure you’ve seen the news today. I wanted to drop you a note to lay out the facts.

  1. Speaker Pelosi can’t decide on impeachment unilaterally. It requires a full vote of the House of Representatives.
  2. The House has voted three times on articles of impeachment. Each vote failed.
  3. Washington Democrats are wasting taxpayer time and money.

They have been trying to reverse the results of the 2016 election since President Trump took office. For them, this is all about politics. Not about facts.”

From the office of Representative TJ Cox

“I didn’t come to Washington to impeach a president, I came here to do everything in my power to give Central Valley working families a hand up and grow our local economy for generations to come. I’ve worked every day to keep that promise,” Said Rep. TJ Cox.

“But when the President of the United States is putting his personal and political interests ahead of the American people and abusing the Constitution, we have a duty to investigate and follow the facts where they lead. An impeachment inquiry will allow us to break through the President’s stonewalling and obstruction and get the answers the American people deserve.”

  1. Representative McCarthy has a truthful response! I agree 👍
Representative Cox I have questions for you. What personal and political interests is the president using & what part of our constitution is he abusing???? Proof please, I haven’t seen any! We the (or most) people are getting tired of this political junk.

  2. Agree with TJ Coxx, this President lawless self perspective and his Administration stonewall tactics have left no choice but to pursue impeachment. He brought this upon himself.

  3. Klueless Kevin is part of the spendmonkey regime that brought us the current $1 trillion deficit. Now he’s yammering about “wasting money”?
    What a klown.

  4. An Impeachment Inquiry is happening as we speak. It is the duty of every elected senator in the Senate and representative in the House of Representatives to fully investigate without political bias on the possibility of wrong doing of the President of the United States, as instructed by the Constitution of the United States. These senators and representatives took an oath to the United States and its Constitution NOT to the President of the United States. It is their job, it is their duty, and it is what they were elected to do. Perhaps McCarthy didn’t read that part of the constitution. Perhaps no one gave him a job description when he ran for office. Perhaps he needs a refresher course on his “constitutional duties” as a member of the House of Representatives. Let the facts dictate if the inquiry leads to impeachment. He should be supportive of the process as mandated by the Constitution of the United States and if he doesn’t he isn’t fit to be holding a seat in the House.

  5. To really understand the “transcript” where Donald Trump says “I would like you to do us a favor though…”, just read it in Marlon Brando’s ‘Don Vito Corleone’ voice. The meaning and intent will become clear.

  6. Kevin MsCarthy of 50 votes to repeal the ACA and “Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping” fame? THAT Kevin McCarthy is crying about politics instead of facts, as well as talking about waste? Hypocritical GOP’ers have no shame at all.

    • McCarthy should be more worried about all the money Trump spends on golf. More than $100 million, according to trumpgolfcount.com

  7. Oh, for crying out loud. I just watched Devin Nunes give an opening statement that was divorced from reality. Re rambled about “Russia Hoax” and “Bruce Orr” and “Fusion GPS”.
I would sooner vote for a dairy cow than Nunes. What an idiot.

    • In fairness to Devin he probably was all over the map this morning due to the stress of thinking about all those Devin Nunes’ Cows tweeting about him and of course those damned nude pictures of Trump and wondering what in heck he is going to do with them now since there apparently were no takers for pictures of a nude overweight old man. lol

  8. How nice that all you constitutional scholars feel so able to comment, (lol).

Remember that you Democrats gave us a crook/madame or a frigging Communist who had no intention of living under the restrictions that he promoted for us.

Far as lying is concerned, “you can keep your health care?” Obama had a most proffitable presidency.

    • If you want to assert that this loser President’s repeated criminality and violations of his oath of office is justified because Obama said “you can keep your health care” like I kept mine, you can do that. If you want to ignore the pathetic covering of the Presidents failures by lickspittle local Congressmen that is your business.
As for the rest of us, we don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

  9. You obviously have no idea which way the wind is blowing! President Trump’s economy, employment #’s for all Americans are the best of recorded history. As far as Devon Nunes, we are extremely fortunate to have a congressman who speaks truth, that some don’t want to hear or observe! Criminality???? Your confusing Trump for Clinton, Obama, Biden! Oh by the way, my wife & I did lose our healthcare & Dr., now as a male I’m paying for prenatal care. Thank God we have politicians who stand up to the swamp! God Bless America

    • First 2 years of Trump had fewer jobs added than last 2 years of Obama. (BLS CES0000000001, Total nonfarm employees).
Last Obama fiscal year had $650 billion deficit which Trump has now jacked up to over $1000 billion. GDP growth for last 3 quarters averaged 2.1%.
This is “the best in recorded history”?

None of which is relevant to Trump’s repeated solicitations for foreign countries to interfere in American elections. He has been caught using American foreign aid to benefit him personally.

  10. I hope every one of Kevin McCarthy’s constituents caught his pathetic denialism on 60 Minutes TV show last night. Kevin looked more like Charlie McCarthy, puppeting lame talking points from the criminal President who tried to use US foreign aid to benefit his re-election.
Justin Amash caught McCarthy’s pathetic performance. Amash is a former Republican Representative who changed his affiliation to Independent because he was disgusted by what the Republican Party has become.
Amash wrote: “Kevin McCarthy again displays his unique brand of incompetence and dishonesty,”
