]]> Kings County Sheriff Department K-9 “DASH” is on the mend. This four-legged officer is home now and recovering with his patrol partner. DASH underwent emergency surgery at Veterinary Emergency Services in Fresno to repair injuries sustained after being shot by a fleeing murder suspect in Kings County.

According to his handler, DASH is groggy but displaying big puppy dog eyes and is in recovery mode. The Kings County Sheriff’s Office considers DASH a hero who undoubtedly saved the lives of deputies and officers on scene.

The Sheriff’s Office has greatly appreciated all the public’s support to include phone calls and prayers during this difficult time for the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
