Kern outfitters also offer more challenging runs on the Class IV section of the Upper and Lower Kern stretches. Permitted outfitters will seasonally offer Class V tours on the Upper Kern's thunder run; and 2-3 day experiences on the Forks of the Kern. To my knowledge no permitted outfitter on the Kern offers V+ river tours.
