As a long serving elected member of the Tulare County Republican Party, I have real concerns with Xavier Avila. In 2017, Devon Mathis sided with Jerry Brown and voted to extend Cap and Trade through 2030, which I felt was a horrible vote. Xavier Avila staunchly defended Mathis' vote and supported the extension of Cap and Trade. I find it very ironic that Xavier is now taking a hard position against HSR, which is largely funded by Cap and Trade, which he supported a few years ago. My question to Xavier is this. Do you regret supporting Cap and Trade in 2017? I think voters deserve an answer. As a side note - Xavier invited me to follow his Assembly page on Facebook. I accepted and posted this question to him regarding his support of Cap and Trade. He left me a nasty message and accused me of stalking him without answering my question. Unreal, and very immature behavior from someone seeking to represent us in the State Assembly. We deserve better, do not vote for Xavier Avila.

People aren't leaving California because taxes are too high, that's just what Republicans say to justify lower taxes for the upper class. The problem is the cost of housing and rent! But neither Democrats or Republicans will talk about that. But we can sleep safe knowing that if you become homeless, Avila says the Republican plan is to put you in jail while cutting taxes for the rich
