Overworked, overwhelmed, and understaffed has been their banner cry, and rightly so. When parent(s) and/or their families fail to nurture and protect their children then it falls to Child Welfare Systems ..... and now we see what happens when that last rail of protection fails. There is no do-over for what happened but their can be a way to change and fix the way CWS is operated, starting with proper funding, proper staffing, training and supervision with a lynchpin of transparency and accountability. Not impossible if the will and commitment is prioritized. CWS is created to protect children's welfare ..... as Captain Picard would say ..... MAKE IT SO!
