“Better enforcement of the showering before swimming rule would help, but it’s difficult to get compliance,” Dodd said. “We do have signs up to that effect, but you can’t get everybody to do that either.”

Evolution’s is a private pool not a public pool which is open to anyone who walks in, membership is required and dues must be paid. If there are rules they should be MANADTORY AND ARE TO BE FOLLOWED, not hopeful wishing that the members chose to do so. The facility is owned and operated by the Tulare Local Health Care District, therefore there is a higher degree of expectation to keep the facility clean and sanitary to maintain a medically healthy environment. Perhaps a letter sent to each member/family that has membership reminding them of the mandatory rule of showering before entering the pool and the health and safety reasons behind this absolute rule. Perhaps this has already been done. While it wasn’t mentioned in this article I would think that showering prior to entering into the spa is of equal important as well.

I do think it is a good idea of going ahead and upgrading the air filtration system. Being that there doesn’t seem to be any real expectation that the members will voluntarily shower prior to entering the pool then it is a sure bet that the members’ dirty bodies will continue to contribute to creating toxic gases.
