Ridiculous, this is, to lose a case against The Grifters for a lack of common sense.

Amazing that Judge Sheltzer (who was the appointed Tulare County Public Defender for many years and highly critical of the DA’s Office) doesn’t see an actual conflict. The Attorney General NEVER EVER sees a conflict because then they would have to take over the case.
Ward has an actual conflict here. Thank goodness Gregg Scott will hold Ward’s feet to the fire, but as usual, Ward will run scared and make a last minute plea deal to avoid losing the case against highly competent counsel.

That’s a troubling ruling. If Benzeevi gets convicted (which is likely) there is an immediate basis for an appeal. The judge should have tried to protect the case and given it to the AG’s office.
