I don’t think so but he was definitely intimidated by the TCSO and the DA and didn’t do a very good job. A lot of people (Oscar’s family included) hire private attorneys thinking that they are better than public defenders. Not necessarily. Donohue was just a country lawyer who had little experience defending serious criminal defendants. Oscar would have been better off with a public defender who would at least have had a relationship with the DAs office and known the players in the TCSO. The 12-26-75 podcast made me seriously angry. Oscar died in prison and these schmucks are collecting government pensions!!!

It saddens me to say that I am neither surprised or shocked at these details. I grew up here and was raised by honest, law-abiding. God fearing parents who always taught all of us kids to never trust law enforcement or the DA. It was surprising given that one of my dad’s best friends was the top cop, he even helped get him elected. I know that throughout his life he received favors from that top cop and his department. Maybe that’s why he knew better than to trust them. He was fully aware of what they were capable and willing to do based on their own personal opinions, friendships, etc. It just depends on which way the wind blows as to whether you are the beneficiary or the victim of these favors. I could respect a department who could own up to mistakes of the past. After all, none of these people are still in the department but nepotism runs deep and it’s all family members or friends of those accused of wrong doing. It’s “the good ole boy club.” Sadly we will never know how many lives could have been spared had this been a real investigation instead of a frame up. Maybe DeAngelo would have been caught and a lot of people would never have had to experience the horrors that they did. Those who are guilty may not have to answer for it here, but rest assured, they will answer for it.

This case continues to be the most outrageous abuse of power that I have ever seen. If you have nothing to hide then review everything and answer the questions. They will never do it. They don’t want to call in to question any of the convictions under Powell. No one is safe or guaranteed any kind of justice in Tulare County. The criminals have the keys to the castle. Until this really catches the eye of someone or something bigger there will be no justice. Read the book people, be very afraid. There should be outrage from the general public.

Mr. Reid, I suggest that you draft and snail mail a complaint to the state bar of California regarding both Tim Ward and David Alavezos, The California state bar has very recently vowed to take complaints more seriously and expedite investigations. Rogue prosecutors need to be held accountable.

Imagine what Ward and Alavezos dreamt up during their trip to Sacramento. After their little ride these two peas in a pod announce a conviction integrity review. Thereafter Alavezos is saying he compared DNA profiles. Alavezos is not a DNA expert. He’s a hack prosecutor who has a bias and should send this to the Attorney General. But he says this is done, done done. Not seeking truth is disturbing.
