Hoping all are able to work cooperatively to preserve this historic treasure and the artifacts that were continued within. I remember when Huell Howser visited town and made Hanford the highlight of his program "California Gold". Historic buildings, artifacts and public art all contribute to the soul of a community. Allowing these to decay or stay shuttered in the long term would be a tragic mistake.

The building IS a museum piece. Save the building and then fill it up once again with historical artifacts. Stewardship needs to be transparent and committed to preserve history for the community and future generations. Real and ongoing oversight is paramount.

“At this point we need to start asking not what the city wants but why. Why has the city been leaning on the museum recently?”

The why is a very simple answer, it was due to the fact that they were not maintaining the historical building as required by the lease. The sole reason the non-profit was established back in the mid 1970s was to save and to maintain the Carnegie building outside the city without spending taxpayer dollars.
