My comparison was in error. I should have said Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) has a larger military than Ukraine, and Peru has a larger GDP than Ukraine.

It would be nice for Devin Do Nothing to actually make headlines protecting his district. Too bad he doesn’t fight half as hard Tulare county as he does for Twitler.

It’s great having Devin’s thoughts on Trump’s phone call with the president of Ukraine. It appears that Ukraine has a smaller military than the island nation of Ceylon, and a smaller economy than El Salvador. What does Devin think is going on when the leader of the most powerful and wealthy country tells the president of Ukraine that he has held up a grant to his country and that he would like him (and his country) “to do him a favor”. Congress has the right to give support to Ukraine (which it did), and Trump has no right to interfere with that support (but he did).

Nunes writes “The release of recent transcript to this central assertion has already been debunked.” Actually, Trump released a summarized transcript of his call to the Ukraine president, and then placed the word-for-word transcript of the call on a restricted access server. If the conversation was mainly congratulatory, as Trump claims, why not release it? Wouldn’t it be great to read how our President does our country’s business? Wouldn’t that support Trumps claims? Especially since Trump is on the summary version of the transcript asking the Ukrainian to “do me a favor.” I wonder what Nunes thinks has been “debunked?”

In Nunes’ opinion piece, he writes that he thinks the democrats have been dishonest. Wow, this is the pot calling the kettle black. While Nunes was chairman of the Intelligence Committee, he was tasked with leading an investigation into the Russian interference into the 2016 election and determining whether Trump had any involvement in that interference. (When he was sworn in as a member of that Congress, he swore to support and defend the constitution. Not Trump!) What did Nunes do? He carried the confidential Committee documents to the White House at night, briefed Trump and his staff on the plans of the Committee and received talking points to share with the media the next day. Rather than receive documents and keep confidential the Committee’s investigation, Nunes acted as an errand boy for Trump. It was some time later that the country learned of Devin’s late night visits. Did he tell the other Committee members of his late night WH activities? No! Was Devin being honest?

Nunes must think his comments are coherent. It would be nice if he came to this District and held town hall meetings and explained how coherent he is. He has been asked many times to hold local open meetings, but he hasn’t found time to stop by and answer a few questions. Although being fair, he gets most of his campaign dollars from businesses outside this District, so he must be staying in touch with them.

What exactly has Devin done for this District and for Tulare County during his time in congress?
