Two Congress Members’ Views on Impeachment Inquiry

Representative TJ Cox from the 21 District (Kings County) and Rep. Kevin McCarthy from the 23rd District (Kern County) sent out short press releases concerning the Impeachment Inquiry announced yesterday. Which view does the Valley most side with and should we be hearing from the representative of Tulare County Devin Nunes?

“I’m sure you’ve seen the news today. I wanted to drop you a note to lay out the facts.

  1. Speaker Pelosi can’t decide on impeachment unilaterally. It requires a full vote of the House of Representatives.
  2. The House has voted three times on articles of impeachment. Each vote failed.
  3. Washington Democrats are wasting taxpayer time and money.

They have been trying to reverse the results of the 2016 election since President Trump took office. For them, this is all about politics. Not about facts.”

“I didn’t come to Washington to impeach a president, I came here to do everything in my power to give Central Valley working families a hand up and grow our local economy for generations to come. I’ve worked every day to keep that promise,” Said Rep. TJ Cox.

“But when the President of the United States is putting his personal and political interests ahead of the American people and abusing the Constitution, we have a duty to investigate and follow the facts where they lead. An impeachment inquiry will allow us to break through the President’s stonewalling and obstruction and get the answers the American people deserve.”
