There was a time when Porterville was a thriving town with a vibrant Main street. But that was in the 70’s and 80’s. Seems to me that the decline began about the time the Wal-Mart distribution center went in. Porterville, it seems to me, has always gone after community draining development, rather than beneficial development.

Sounds a lot like the planned strategy for MONO WINDS casino to be built on ave 17 1/2 between hwy 152 and hwy 99.
GOV Arnold s. Talk a good deal along with HSR.
THAT WAS 10+ yrs.
WHERE IS THE NEW jail located. No FED or state ORDANANCE on location of hotel, ALCOHOL and gambling?
These are all projects on hold when we moved here 15 yrs ago.
All WE have gotten is higher property tax, city bonds and tax bonds paid yo KERN county an city of porterville.
City council needs to be careful backing these developers when they have many code violations with planning COMMISSION and city inspectors.

Higher property taxes for everybody else so that welfare people can more easily smoke, drink and gamble themselves into oblivion. Sounds great! Porterville should be proud!

This will help our community out tremendously. I honestly dont know why it is taking so long. The sooner, the better. There really is not anything that is negative about this relocation. It’s all pluses.
