Trump is the embodiment of the average republican voter. Decades of state and corporate sponsored right wing propaganda are going to produce this Frankenstein of a person. Trump said earlier this month, "I don’t care that most of the workers not getting paid are Democrats, I want to stop the Shutdown as soon as we are in agreement on Strong Border Security!” He's saying the federal workers, "democrats," are not human. They don't see the opposition as their equals. You can't convince people with this mentality that what they're doing is wrong. You are never going to persuade a republican voter into seeing your point of view because they see themselves in Trump. When the media disparages Trump, they take it personally. But boy was I relieved to see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez put Mitch McConnell in the spotlight. Trump isn't at fault for the shut down until the bill to reopen the government is on his desk. Mitch McConnell is stopping that. If there is one politician the swing voters could be persuaded to blame, it is this crook. Trump is small fries. Everyone's social media aggression should be concentrated solely on this man, not Trump. Mitch McConnell was here for the shutdowns before Trump and he will be here for the ones after Trump.
