It’s quite obvious the city leaders and hired staff of Tulare are absolutely incompetent and need replaced as soon as possible. The Mayor being the first and foremost to be replaced with a competent, professional and individual that seeks the position for the right reasons. We have no hospital and lost millions due to corruption. We have no chief of police and very likely due to a corrupt mayor, former city manager, lawyer and city council. We have been paying 6 months Salary for two police officers who were suspended and we have no idea for what possible reason. We have serious drinking water quality issues. We have a substantial homeless problem. We have no plan for revitalizing Our down town. Our roads are crumbling. Oh yeah, the Mayor is bullying his way to stay mayor after the community has expressed great desire for him to step down? It’s time for new, competent, ethical leaders of this city.

Tulare is a rat hole, with declining revenues, so Ag wants to save Tulare by sinking it. After polluting the air and water which all taxpayers pay to clean up.

Ag is fine but the parasitic tendencies cost us too much.

I found it quite illuminating listening to the many Tulareans who walked up to the podium to have their turn at bashing Carlton Jones. These same people who praise Donald Trump regardless of his habitual lying, his habitual rudeness, his habitual bullying tactics, his habitual refusal to educate himself, his habitual intolerance of anyone who may disagree with him are actually bashing Carlton Jones for his similar behavioral traits. Both seek to undermine the rule of law by weakening public trust in law enforcement leaders and communities. Both seek to undermine believability in news outlets by constant claims of biased and fake reporting in the media. Both men love creating turmoil and both men relish negativity. Both men are autocratic leaders. How can one person be wholly acceptable and the other be totally unacceptable? So the question is …….why all the hypocrisy Tulare?

Dear Brenda I am so happy you wrote this. You are right! I was going to mention the same thing. Carlton does use social media to rant, belittle people and embarrass them and then uses God to try justify his actions. He is mean and self absorbed. Listen to his interview after the City Counsel meeting and what he said in the article above.

Mayor Jones, He is so fake it is amusing to watch. I would bet my house he didn’t have a bee keeper call him. The water issue is the farmers fault. Mr Jones do you realize every chemical is approved by the Government. The state of California tells our farmers what they can and can’t use. If farmers have been told by the State that “X” is Ok, then why would it be the farmers are poisoning our valley? Mr Jones stated that farmers our the biggest welfare user’s and shouldn’t receive anything. Does he realize the state tells them when and when not to plant their fields or that 85% of of the farm subsidies go to families who don’t work. The BEST part of this whole issue is we now don’t have to be embarrassed again by Mayor Jones being elected to any State Seat that he had dreams of filling. Lastly Mr Jones stated he doesn’t quit ever, Really, Jones have you forgotten already you quitting “tapping out” when you were THE COUNCILMAN in Lemoore when you were beat down in the ring. LAUGHABLE but still an embarrassment to Tulare.

I agree that Carlton went too far with his statements on ag and his unwillingness to admit he was wrong and apologize to the farmers and those who work in agricultural has made it worse. I would like to remind everyone that this isn’t the only reason Carlton should be replaced, Carlton has be shown to be manipulative in many areas , most disturbing is how he uses his position to manipulate our police department , his habit of commenting to citizens on social media often leading to debates where Carlton fails repeatedly to communicate any rational though..after these arguments Carlton then blocks people. The Mayor of Tulare blocks the people that live in his town when he can’t get them to go along with his ridiculous statements…I agree that he should be completely removed from the government of Tulare.

It was made quite clear by the citizens of Tulare who took time to show up and share their concerns, its time for Carlton to step down. I realize not every voting citizen in Tulare may be in agreement however, the consensus was strong and firm of those who cared to attend. Mayor Jones, it’s obvious to me as a spectator in the group, the people want you to step down. Don’t say you will not step down because of those who voted for you. That was the past, not the present. Peoples perspective changes with knowledge and education. Last night was an example. I was highly educated and stood in awe as I watched the number of concerned citizens share the view. The words may have been different however, the result was the same. Pride is an enemy, sir. My respect for you would be enhanced if you accepted the people’s wishes. It certainly would not be diminished. After being a part of Tulare for over 30 years and watching the town tumble brick by brick over the years, I would personally, like to see Tulare’s revival to an enhanced thriving city again, like it was in yesteryear. I personally, do not have a vendetta against you. What I do have is a desire to live the remainder of my life with Tulare pride intact.

The Tulare Citizens attending the Council meeting last night did an exemplary job in making it very clear what is desired from the majority of the community. The resignation/removal of Carlton Jones from his mayor/council position is number 1. The remaining members of the Tulare leadership group were put on Notice that operating with integrity and ethics is a must if they are to going be able to maintain their current position. The voters have spoken and in a democratic republic it is the citizens who are to be served not the citizens serving government officials. Tulare is righting the ship as we speak. The California Department of Justice, state ethics watch organizations, the media and the FBI are sources that have and will be communicated with regarding the current state of affairs and going forward.
