Riley Walter noted, and perhaps it should have been clarified in the article, but post-bankruptcy debt does not mean after closing – it is literally after filing bankruptcy.

The board voted to file Chapter 7 on September 30, but the hospital didn’t close until October 29. It didn’t ‘take back’ (in a legal sense) control of the district until the contract was officially rejected on November 22.

So the post-bankruptcy debt is a combination of while the hospital was open, while the district was under HCCA’s stewardship, and after Wipfli came on board.

Although, you made a good point. The new management and HCCA are getting paid about the same. So the new management is charging a whole lot for almost half a year and is hardly doing any work. Sounds like a really good deal to me. It will be a matter of time until all of you will all point fingers at the new board members with some other conspiracy theory. The debt created after the hospital was closed is appalling–6 Millions?

It takes a lot more time and effort to clean up a mess than make one. It’s obvious that HCCA wasn’t paying bills and was clearly lying to us. It’s easy to show profit when you don’t show expenses, or if you don’t write off bad debt/accounts receivable that you aren’t going to be able to receive. Alan Germany had to know what was going on he was brought in to cover up the corruption. If you want to be updated go to the meetings.
