Same ol same ol in Tulare, different day. Very sad all these years! The citizens of Tulare deserve better. I hope for a better Tulare all around.

By the way “At Will” employee means exactly that. Can be let go, fired, terminated for ANY reason or not. Police Chief knows this (his contract) and he should have stayed Captain if he wanted due process and all what his lawyer is trying to push forward.

He is a racist.” Now you are posting that anyone who does not like any or all of our current city council members must be racists. Just what do you base your assumptions on? Have you witnessed the Chief being racist? Have you heard comments that he has made that might be construed as racist? Let’s see now, Nunley is Caucasian-American, Sigala is Hispanic-American, Castellanoz is Hispanic-American, Jones is African-American, and Macedo is Portuguese-American. Did I miss anyone? And they are not liked because of what?????? They are all “Americans” first and foremost and more than likely the vast majority posting comments about them are not indulging in racism just sharing their major disappointment concerning them. I am assuming that they are not indulging in racism based on their actual words that they are posting. I personally don’t give a flying fig what the “color” of anyone’s skin is but I do care about the cut of their jib so to speak. If you aren’t familiar with that particular terminology it is an old sailor’s term for one’s intangible qualities. It is what they say and do or in the case of our city council it is what they say versus what they actually do. If you have personally experience racism toward you or someone you care about you have my sincere sympathy but please do not “assume” that those with differing opinions from you must all be based on racism.

I believe people are upset because the City Council has 3 people of color and with the city manager that is 4. If we want to go back to how Tulare was in the 1800s then we would still have the Chinese living underground in Downtown, we would treat the Mexicans like 2nd class citizens and the Black community well we know how that has been. Now we listened to this same group….. let’s recall the hospital board there is something going on. ….. and we listened…. and what happened we recalled Kumar and now we have a closed hospital. I will not listen to this same group of racist idiots any more.

Mayor Jones try’s to act as if the City Manager doesn’t work for him and he only listens to him regarding budget or issues related to the council as a whole. I know of two people who were told by him “Jones” The the city manager works for him and will do as he says. Nunley needs to go as well, I am gonna get all the public files I can regarding Nunleys business with the city. I want to find out what money he owed the city before he was elected and what he paid after he was elected. I don’t think I will be surprised to learn fees disappeared after he was elected. If someone starts a recall I will donate to the fund generously.

I agree with all you said with the exception of Craig Vejvoda ……..don’t forget about the one million dollars of taxpayer money lost in the infamous airport transaction with a widely know unscrupulous Fresno land developer and professional con artist.

In the 95 years my family has been in Tulare this has got to be the most dysfunctional city council there has ever been. Two council persons have the courage to do what is right and stand for change. It is a shame that one will not. I wish Craig Vevoda was back in office. Misuse of a City of Tulare credit card which belongs to the tax payers my parents, your parents, my children and your children no matter how big or small is a crime. In my career I had access to a large line of city credit and I would never ever abuse the tax payers money or trust. Tulare you do not deserve this quagmire of a council. The town looks like a dying town, Drive around and see for yourself is this what you want ? I have too many family members at rest in Tulare Cemetery to not care. I feel that as with the Hospital Board it is time to Recall, Replace, and Reboot the City Council Persons who are destroying Tulare. You deserve better we all do. My grandchildren do!’

You can ask the city for a copy, however I believe they may charge a small fee. I agree, I have been reading all the negative comments on Charlie’s social media. As a realtor you must keep an ethical standard in which he obviously hasn’t. His Facebook is open so you can copy many of his comments and there is a live video of this last meeting that is distasteful to say the least. I have on the other hand worked with his wife many years ago and she’s a doll!

It is correct in thinking that three council members Should have the courage to stand up to what is going on; unfortunately at this present time, there are probably only two that would. Everyone knows where the mayor truly stands, despite how he constantly hides behind his own hypocritical words, trying to fool the public into thinking otherwise. So that leaves the remaining two members, one appears to be only interested in self, and the other appears to being trapped under the thumb of the mayor, despite trying to break out from under it. Maybe there’s still hope for that member.
It is also correct that the council’s evaluation will be determined at the ballot box. One ‘evaluation’ will happen this November. Unfortunately though, the election for two of them are not until 2020. God forbid how much more damage the two could do between now and then. Hopefully the residents of their districts will come to the realization that for the betterment of the entire city, in the long run we can’t afford to wait for that 2020 election. Monetary costs for recalls pale in comparison to the true overall cost of the city continuing in the direction that it is going down deeper and darker by the months.

Oh boy what a mess in Tulare! Things just seem to go from bad to worse. To make matters worse I heard Charlie Ramos made a very rude remark towards Mr. Chief Epps and a group of students. Really, doesnt he have a business? Ethics Mr. Ramos please have some class. The board of CA realators needs be informed of this public unprofessional behavior. Does the city library have video footage of the board meetings?
