I never gave praise to the old Boards. I’m not Benny. I’m saying that this community deserves leadership of a hospital that knows what they are doing. This Board promises everything the last Board did with the same results. Outsourcing ? Isn’t that what Benny got criticized for and this Board did it too? What are you afraid of that some people in the community may question this Boards actions? We should. It’s our tax dollars.

onceagainduped you must be Benny or one of his clonies. I am not Kevin's wife Chris, nice try. There you go putting words in my mouth, if Valley Voice is covering, they do an awesome job of laying out facts and posting their proof, VTD well thats another story, very liberal paper and when you give them a quote what they put in has been written the way that want it to be. The new board is doing a great job, but thanks to past persons the hospital is in deep s#!t. I guess you think the prior board was amazing and did nothing wrong. The truth will be set free once fiscal audit done.

Smarterthanaveragebooboo, or is it Chris ? I don’t need to sit in the room when its on internet and Valley Voice reports it. Unless you think they report fake news? This Board closed the hospital not the other Boards. How long are you going to keep looking back? Let this Board take some responsibility. Two Board members have been there over a year already. The one that wasn’t granted her seat , all their rulings were retroactive. The community hasn’t been told anything and it’s the same old story . Full transparency, what a joke. People are dying and sick. They need a hospital. The Board signed up for this, who cares how many hours they put in. They should be putting in the work, but so far, we haven’t seen it. Employees keep getting told just a little longer or opening is delayed again. When it’s one of their family members that may need immediate medical treatment, it might be a priority. Just tired of the empty promises with this hospital.

There is nothing irrational about wanting to reopen the hospital and there is nothing wrong in trying everything that is humanly possible to achieve that goal. That said there should always be a Plan B if the preferred Plan A doesn't work out. A "Medical Mall" is one way to go as long as the anchor is an "Urgent Care Facility". Many rural hospitals across the United States that went bankrupted were converted into Urgent Care Facilities along with adding other types of medical related offices and services to fill up the remaining vacant rooms/floors that existed. The most important being an 24-hour Urgent Care Facility.

Some people are finally starting to think rationally about this hospital's future. History is just going to repeat itself if something different is not tried. Hospitals of this size and even larger are failing all over the place. Its a lost cause in the long term. Also, it does not exist to be a local jobs program. If TLHCD cannot find a buyer to rid the taxpayers of this moneypit - then streamline the profitable areas and get rid of the unprofitable ones, let Kaweah and others do it. They will soon flounder too.

Plan A is to get TRMC back up and running and if anyone can get this accomplished it is our current Board. But with all this drowning debt owed and such an overwhelming amount of money required to pay out in outsourcing fees, if this proves to be impossible then perhaps thinking outside the box in regards to the hospital buildings as a whole for a Plan B should be considered. Would it be possible to convert the hospital buildings to house the following type of medical facilities? The hospital has plenty of buildings which include the rooms and floors in the main building to accommodate some if not all of the following and would bring in much needed revenue to go toward paying $32 million of debt. None of these types of medical facilities requires a hospital license.

Hospice Care Facility (modeling the quality of care much like Kaweah Delta’s Hospice).

Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility – Can’t have enough of these facilities – there is always a waiting list.

Urgent Care (with X-Ray and Lab facilities included) – for many years people had been using TRMC Emergency Room as an “urgent care facility”, which this town severely needs. It could be a 24-hour Free Standing Urgent Care Facility and it would be in the required 20 mile distance to a hospital (Kaweah Delta is 8-10 miles).

Medical Offices – Would be great part-time offices for those Visalia doctors who also have plenty of Tulare patients that they treat.

Exercise/Physical Therapy Classes for special needs clients (Evolutions doesn’t cater to this population).

Do Not blame this current board, IT IS PAST BOARD's fault. Hiring HCCA with a contract that was outrageous and then failing to do there job by holding HCCA accountable. If the hospital had not be put into bankruptcy and temporarily shut down, State of Ca Public health was shuting it down.
HCCA drove the hospital into the ground with the intent to purchase, and they are still doing everything they can to prevent the reopening.
HCCA had not paid vendors for almost 1 year and kept all the money. They found out 2 days ago HCCA deposited payments into the bank accounts but failed to post any of the payments to the patients accounts for over I year, which increases the A/R
The new board puts in 40 hours a week, many late hours and gets Zero pay. They are dedicated to opening the hospital, but every step forward produces steps back because of all the wrong doings by HCCA continue to be found.
Onceagainduped why don't you come to board meeting and voice concerns or ideas on how to reopen, if not stop bagging on current board
