In reply to <a href="https://www.ourvalleyvoice.com/2017/09/22/tulare-city-council-clashes-continue/#comment-10243">Greg Nunley - councilman</a>.

Go back and re-read my first comment. You responded to my comment by saying in essence that you felt it was not a pressing issue, even after 12 years of delay, and had no problem with further delaying the business at hand. I was not passing rumors, I was stating an opinion, two entirely different things. If you don't want to get involved in cyber conversations then please do not post a response.

usually pretty easy to voice opinions without knowing facts or spending the time to research the facts. Council chambers are open to everyone to come down and see what is really happening and the goals we are setting for the city. Always 2 sides of a story it's just who is willing to by pass the rumors they hear and take the time out of their busy little schedules to actually meet council. Where was everyone 1,2,3,12 years ago asking on this issue. Hope to see you at council, I don't usually get involved in cyber conversations I like face to face conversations. I am always available to meet.

Thank you for your clarification. That said, I do have concern with your thinking that more delay after 12 years of continual delay is no big deal......that is the kind of attitude that has been "acceptable" for the past 12 years and I find that continuing that attitude "unacceptable".

i invite you to the next council meeting to voice your frustrations. Maybe someone should have kept the accountability promise when it was made 12 years ago. When I ran I made this promise and it's done now after s little over 6 months on council. Delaying this 2 weeks after 12 years and not being a pressing issue is acceptable to me. Hopefully that makes sense.
Also, 6 applicants for not just measure I but to fill seats on the BPU and planning commission.

Added thought, unless the remaining applicants don't meet the qualifications for the position.

"Taking the seats are Richard Dituri and Dawn Rowsey. Three other commissioners will be appointed at a future meeting." If I am reading correctly it seems that these two were selected and seated. Wasn't there a total of six applicants? And if there was a quorum present then the final three out of the four remaining applicants left could have been voted on then and there. If a councilman isn't there to take part in the business at hand and if there is a quorum then the attending quorum should select who will serve. Work goes on.....show up and do your job or be prepared to lose out on being part of decisions that are made. Not a difficult thing to understand. The City Council is not a social club......be prepared to show up and work or be prepared to not be a part of decisions made AS LONG AS THERE IS A QUORUM PRESENT! No need to delay or change the agenda.

One other item to the editor
The title of this is completely out of line. "Clashes" really? Are we suppose to agree on everything and not debate anything? Is it not ok to disagree anymore?
Anything to get headlines I guess.

One of the promises I made when I ran was accountability for measure I. Your correct it has never been audited as promised and now it will be.
As for why the delay in voting, each council member is given the option to select one of the 5 measure I committee members. Didn't have 5 members to pick from and picking only one would not have completed the new measure I board. Hope that makes sense.

Seems to me that if there is a quorum the agenda should proceed, no matter what. A council member should have no problem with missing a vote once he/she made the decision to not attend the meeting. No need to consider postponing anything....if there is a quorum.
