2017 Tulare County College Night at Visalia Convention Center

The Tulare County Office of Education’s annual College Night will return to the Visalia Convention Center Tuesday, September 12. Representatives from nearly 70 colleges, universities and technical schools will be in attendance to answer questions about entrance requirements, tuition and housing at their institutions. Tulare County College Night is designed for high school students and parents who want to learn more about preparing for and applying to colleges.

In addition to the college representatives, students and parents can visit two sessions of informational presentations (at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m.) on a variety of topics, including career planning, the college application process, scholarship opportunities and writing an effective personal statement/essay. Students and parents can also find valuable resources on tcoe.org/CollegeNight with links to university, financial aid and test preparation sites.

College Night is coordinated by the Tulare County Office of Education and generously supported by numerous local service clubs, businesses and high schools. Community support not only helps with the cost of the event, but supports the College Night Scholarship fund.

“The College Night committee does an outstanding job of bringing higher education resources to thousands of Tulare County students each year,” says Tulare County Superintendent of Schools Jim Vidak. “The event is a great collaboration between parent volunteers, teachers, college representatives and community supporters.”
