My father. Theodore S. Brooks from Beaver Falls, PA, was a civilian instructor at Rankin for 18 months, 1943-44. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has pictures or documents that contain reference to him.

Is Bill still alive? I would love to talk to him about his time at Rankin, as my father in law was also an instructor there. If Bill is still with us Dianne or John from the comments made read this and still see him, please ask if the name Morell (Morey) Austin rings a bell. It would be a dream come true for me to know more about Morey, as I only met him once before he passed. I live in Nampa, ID

In 1993 I was having a Stearman restored and wanted a check out before flying my restored plane. Bill offered to check me out in Big Red, his personal plane. He did that, and we have become good friends. He is now 97 years old and I see him often.
