I think 3 0r 5 chickens should be allowed in Visalia backyards. No roosters is a good Idea. Othe city council should reconsider this. Visalia is a Rural city. Even with its growth.

Residents should be allowed to control their food source whenever possible. In this case, providing humane living conditions for a pet/animal that provides you food. I agree there should be limit on how many, but keeping chickens should definitely be allowed.

Two to four hens per coop per residential lot makes sense to me.

Cheers to the city for considering this change. Chickens (not roosters) can have a minimal impact in a back yard and provide a cheap food source. Also, they are great 4H and FFA projects. I hope the city will allow the change in the local law.
